He embarked on his educational journey at the Art Institute of TN -Nashville, specializing in Audio Engineering and Film Production in 2007, where he honed his expertise in the realms of sound and visual storytelling.

Dontrai is married to his high school sweetheart aka the prom princess and together they have two children. During his leisure time, Dontrai engages in a variety of hobbies, including maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular workouts, meditation, nurturing his imaginative side through creative writing, and exploring the intricacies of videography and editing.

In June 2023, Dontrai enthusiastically joined Dale Carnegie as a Training Advisor, driven by his deep admiration for Dale Carnegie and his principles that bring about transformative changes. Among these principles, his favorite is "be genuinely interested in other people.”
