How often have we spoken too quickly then regretted it? Our ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact improves our leadership by helping us manage change, negotiate, resolve conflicts, collaborate, and create strong cohesive teams. Research conducted by Mike Poskey at ZERORISK HR indicates that two of the five emotional intelligence competencies that successful leaders employ are especially important. They are having an attitude of genuine interest in others, and the ability to manage our internal emotions, reactions, and filters when we communicate.
